My Photography Journey
I have always been involved with photography which has taught me to appreciate all the small things that make up this colorful world we live in and it is those images that moved me and inspired me to become a photographer.
I grew up in Spanish Town St Catherine where I learned about the world through books and magazines. From the time I was young, National Geographic magazine and the daily paper The Gleaner, were a part of my life.
I’ve been fortunate to have won many local and international awards namely joint winner of the Inter American Press Association Award for news coverage in 2007. In 2008 to 2013, I have won the Press Association of Jamaica News and Sports Photography awards and also in 2015 for Sports Photography
One of the greatest influences in my professional career has been Bill Frakes. No matter how big or small the assignment, he always treats each one with the same level of enthusiasm, dedication and perseverance. He told me while in London at the Olympics that what was important was taking a good shot. He wanted to get it right. I try to emulate that in everything I do.
